In this hands-on class, we’ll guide you through the steps of making a cinnamon-encrusted coffee cake, Magdalenas, and a fun twist on a classic Mexican pastry—besos!

What you’ll make:

  • Cinnamon Coffee Cake: Learn to make a rich, cinnamon swirl coffee cake, with the option to add walnuts or pecans. Each student will create their own ¼ sheet (9.5" x 15") cake, perfect for sharing or enjoying on your own.

  • Magdalenas: These are scone-like, raisin-infused pastries that are the Mexican version of the French Madeleine. We’ll teach you how to shape and bake them, and you can add your choice of sprinkles or nuts on top for extra flavor and texture.

  • Besos: We’ll also show you how to create besos—a sweet pastry filled with raspberry filling and coated in coconut. These little "kisses" are fun to make and even more fun to eat!

Nothing says the holidays like gingerbread. But this Gingerbread Latte Layer Cake is not your ordinary gingerbread. This is gingerbread taken up a notch. 

This is the cake form of a gingerbread latte found at coffee shops during the holidays. Imagine a coffee buttercream between three layers of a gingerbread cake. Then more coffee buttercream on the outside as well as a white chocolate ganache drip to imitate the foam found on a latte. For a bit of whimsy the outside of the cake will be decorated with your own freshly baked gingerbread cookies in the shape of your choosing. Don’t worry, there will even be enough gingerbread cookies to eat on the way home.

Don’t worry about the coffee buttercream, the flavor is subtle and just enhances the gingerbread flavor. Avoiding caffeine? A decaf option will be available or you could also choose to another flavor for your buttercream.

As this cake is baking, your house will fill with the aromas of the holidays. Brown sugar, molasses, and warm spices in the gingerbread cake will bring everyone running to the kitchen.

Join Mary Storey for a cozy and festive evening as you learn the art of making Traditional Panettone — the iconic Italian Christmas bread. In this hands-on class, you’ll shape, fill, and bake your own panettone using a pre-risen dough (no waiting around!). While your loaf bakes, you’ll mix up a fresh batch of dough to take home and bake later — perfect for sharing with friends and family.

Panettone is a soft, buttery, brioche-like bread traditionally enriched with citrus zest and a mix of dried and candied fruits, then baked into its signature tall dome in a paper mold. But if dried fruit isn’t your thing, don’t worry — we’ll also have chocolate chips and a variety of nuts like pistachios and hazelnuts available for your custom creation.

Join Mary Storey for a fun evening making THREE varieties of delicious Rugelach. Is it a pastry or a cookie? Well, technically it’s a pastry disguised as a cookie so you can call it a pookie or a castry if you like, but really who can talk with a mouth full of Rugelach?

You’ll start by selecting your THREE Fillings: A Fruit Filling, Cinnamon Sugar (with or without nuts) and a Chocolate version.

Using dough that has already been prepared (as it has to be refrigerated overnight) you’ll learn the different rolling techniques for both the Crescent and Pinwheel versions. While your cookies are baking, you’ll make a batch of dough to bring home so you can recreate these festive treats whenever you like! Sicilian sweets are delicious any time of year. Each March, however, Ann Maloney looked forward to sampling traditional fig, sesame and amaretti cookies as she visited St. Joseph’s Altars scattered throughout her hometown of New Orleans.

Each March 19, St. Joseph’s Altars -- traditionally elaborate, three-tiered presentations of seafood, breads, pastry and citrus -- can be found in private homes, churches, community centers and even hotel lobbies, grocery stores and bars in U.S. cities where large Sicilian immigrant populations settled in the early 19th century.

In this immersive class, as you learn the step-by-step, cookie-making process, you’ll also hear the fascinating tale of the la tavola di San Giuseppe that began in the Middle Ages in Sicily, when that island nation prayed to the saint for relief from famine. On the saint's feast day, March 19, Sicilians still build altars in thanks.

We’ll make the cookies that you can then take home to share with family and friends as you regale them with the delectable details about this religious and cultural practice, which is rich in faith, symbolism -- and even superstition. Keep in mind: each of these cookies freezes beautifully as well.

Join Mary Storey for a wonderful evening making Traditional* Panettone! During the class you will learn to fill, shape and bake a batch of pre-risen dough (so you’re not waiting around for hours.) While your panettone is baking you’ll learn to make a batch of dough to bring home so you can make more delicious Panettone to share with your friends and family! Plus, Mary will have a surprise Panettone dessert made for you to sample (don’t worry, she’ll share the recipe too) in addition to serving her freshly baked loaf.

Panettone is probably the most iconic Italian Christmas cake. It is instantly recognizable for its beautifully tall dome shape. Panettone is a sweet, soft, and buttery bread similar to brioche. The dough is traditionally loaded with lemon and/or orange zest, and a mix of dried and candied fruit and baked in a paper mold to give it the characteristic shape.

*If dried fruit isn’t your thing, we’ll also have chocolate chips and a variety of nuts including pistachios and hazelnuts to choose from.

Legend has it that Panettone’s origin goes back to the late 1400s… during a luxurious Christmas banquet given by the Duke of Milan, the desert they were meant to server was burnt. A kitchen apprentice called Toni, came up with a rich brioche bread filled with raisins and candied fruit. The Duke loved it, and so the tradition of 'Pane di Toni' was born and later changed to "panettone" and become a bread of luxury.

Learn to make the festive Italian Rainbow Cake, chocolate ganache, chocolate lace, and gilding in this full-day class. You'll take home your choice of either a 9" round three-tier cake or a tray of Italian Rainbow (AKA Venetian/Tricolori/Italian Flag) Cookies, perfect for gift giving. Each cake layer is made with decadent almond paste and filled with Apricot and Raspberry Jam and topped (and bottomed) with a rich chocolate ganache.
