Yeasted Holiday Breads

Saturday, November 21, 2026 | 10:00AM - 4:00PM

$299.00Per Station (Suitable for Dynamic Duos- see below for more details)

Join Brian Knowles for a full day of yeasted bread baking, featuring three beautiful and delicious breads sure to impress your holiday guests!

Three-Pound Pumpkin-Shaped Loaf

A giant pumpkin-shaped loaf is a showstopper that brings a little autumn magic to your holiday table. Brian will teach you how to transform a basic yeasted bread dough into an impressive, three-pound pumpkin-shaped loaf like the ones taking social media by storm. Imagine the delight of your dinner guests when they discover that the centerpiece is not only beautiful but delicious, too—and that they can actually eat it!

Streusel-Topped Spiced Swirl Bread

This gorgeous swirl bread will be right at home on your holiday breakfast or brunch table. Starting with a soft, tender white bread dough, you’ll create a flavorful swirl with your choice of classic cinnamon, warm chai spices, or traditional German Christmas spice (Lebkuchengewürz).

Brian will share his secrets for creating a beautiful, even swirl without those frustrating gaps in the finished loaf. To make this bread even more irresistible, you’ll finish it with a generous topping of buttery brown sugar and cinnamon streusel. It’s a festive combination of soft bread, warming spices, and sweet, crunchy topping!

Japanese (Hokkaido) Milk Bread Rolls

If you’ve never experienced Japanese milk bread, prepare to fall in love! Also known as shokupan, this uniquely tender bread is exceptionally soft, slightly chewy, and wonderfully milky, with a light, cloud-like texture—if you could taste a cloud, this might be it!

You’ll learn the secret behind its signature softness: tangzhong, a cooked roux made with water, milk, or a combination of both. This technique creates bread that’s wonderfully soft, springy, and tender, making these rolls an ideal addition to your holiday dinner table.

The best part? This versatile recipe can also be baked into a loaf, producing some of the most delicious sandwich bread you’ll ever make. Once you learn the technique, you’ll want to use it all year long!

This class is suitable for the following Dynamic Duo types:

YES: Parent/Grandparent & Child

YES: Couples (live in the same household)

YES: Friends (you will share all equipment/ingredients for 1 recipe/batch…we let you rock, paper, scissors if the recipe doesn’t divide equally.)

*What is a Dynamic Duo? It’s basically two buddies sharing the same workstation at no extra charge. You share all equipment and ingredients for a singlebatch of whatever we’re making that day. (Don’t worry, we won’t stick you with some random stranger- if you want to fly solo, you’ll have the station (and all the yummy food) all to yourself!)

We provide all ingredients, supplies, and tools required for use during each class. Best of all you get to take home whatever tasty treats you make - we provide all boxes/packaging.

Please wear comfortable shoes (stools will be provided) and have long hair tied back. For the comfort of all our students and staff, we ask that you refrain from wearing strong perfume or cologne. You may wish to bring a cardigan or sweater as the kitchen is kept at 68F.
