Q: Why come to Florida Academy of Baking for a Field Trip?
A: There are dozens of STEM (and STEAM) processes used in baking everyday and we break down these lessons into easy to understand concepts with our interactive classes. We can even tailor classes to incorporate elements of your current curriculum(s). Baking is a science after all. Examples include but are not limited to:
Mathematics & Chemistry/Physics/Biology:
Weight vs. Volume Measurements
Ratios, Scaling, Time & Temperature
Acidity vs. Alkalinity, how pH levels impact the end result
Maillard Reaction, microbiology, fermentation, leavening, emulsification
