Caroline is a Florida native, born & raised on the Space Coast. She is a wife, mother of two little boys, friend, and entrepreneur.
As the second-oldest of eight children, she has always navigated the kitchen with an air of confidence. Baked-goods and breads have been a constant favorite. Many family & church functions were graced by her Chocolate Chip Cookie handiwork over the years. She received her first bread machine at 11 years old - simultaneously one of her most memorable and utilized birthday gifts to date!
Caroline’s interest in fresh-milling flour was sparked following the arrival of her firstborn son, Bennett. He proved to have the most sensitive digestive system. Nearly everything she fed him resulted in tummy-aches and an unsettled (screaming) little boy. A friend from church introduced Caroline to the concept of milling her own flour and divulged the practical health benefits of doing so. A deep-dive of research ensued and there’s been no turning back!
Caroline quickly discovered that utilizing freshly-milled, whole-wheat flour, elevates both the nutritional quality and flavor of any bread, bagel, or other baked-good. She opened a cottage-bakery, “Salt & Starter” to give others access to 100% fresh-milled breads. Caroline is passionate about helping others invest in their health and nourish their bodies with rich, whole, fresh grains.
