Baking Retreats
Here you will find details of our upcoming Baking Retreats. Our Baking Retreats are fun, hands-on and fairly intensive to allow for students that are traveling from out of state/country to learn as much as possible in a short space of time. Retreats are limited to 11 stations and are hands-on, fully immersive (you make everything the instructor makes.) All classes are held in our custom-built, state-of-the-art facility in Satellite Beach with each student having their own fully equipped workstation.

Located just across from the beach, the experience also invites moments of relaxation—beach chairs are available if you’d like to unwind by the water between daytime and evening sessions.
All Retreats are suitable for Dynamic Duos (see details below.) However, if you are travelling with someone that won’t be attending the daytime classes, there are loads of activities/sites to visit around the Space Coastto keep them occupied while you’re busy baking! You’re also welcome to bring a non-baking travel companion to join the evening classes as your guest, sharing your workstation (at no additional charge.)
From Dolphin Tours to Surfing, Fishing, Beachcombing, Kayaking, Airboat Rides and Golf to following in the footsteps of Neil Armstrong at Kennedy Space Center and even Pottery & Painting there is sure to be something that will take their fancy.
**We require you to purchase trip insurance* in case you will need to change your plans to attend at a different date, especially if you are flying. We will provide up to $300.00 credit/reimbursement per station upon receipt of proof of purchase of travel insurance.
Q: What is a Dynamic Duo? A: It’s basically two people sharing the same workstation. You share all equipment and ingredients for a single batch of whatever we’re making that day. Don’t worry, we won’t stick you with some random stranger- if you want to fly solo, you’ll have the station (and all the yummy food) all to yourself! On Chef/Date Nights (the two evening classes) you will always have enough for two and generally extra to bring home too.
These Retreats are suitable for the following Dynamic Duo types at a nominal extra fee which includes a Swag Bag for each participant; all meals listed in the Retreat Description and extra packaging to bring your delicious baked goods home if required; ground transportation to/from the school and your Satellite Beach/Indian Harbour Beach hotel or AirB&B.
You’re also welcome to bring a non-baking* travel companion to join the evening classes as your guest, sharing your workstation (at no additional charge.)
YES: Parent/Grandparent & Child - As these are full day classes, they are more suitable for accompanied older children (10+) or younger children with a keen interest in baking. Unaccompanied students 16+ may attend with a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.

YES: Friends (you will share all equipment/ingredients for 1 recipe/batch…we let you rock, paper, scissors if the recipe doesn’t divide equally.)
*The evening classes are more like date nights/chef nights, so even if your non-baking travel companion doesn’t step foot in the kitchen at home, they are sure to enjoy themselves. You are welcome to BYOB to the evening classes too (please drink responsibly.)

Q: What is a Dynamic Duo?

Q: What’s included in the class fee?
A: We provide all ingredients, supplies, and tools required for use during each class. Best of all you get to take home whatever tasty treats you make - we provide all boxes/packaging too. We have tea, coffee, water and snacks available during every class and for full day classes we also provide lunch. You are welcome to bring your own drinks/snacks/lunch if you prefer, but we really do look after you.
Meals included: Lunch and snacks, tea, coffee and bottled water during every daytime class PLUS Dinner on the two evening classes.
Also included: Swag Bag and Travel Insurance reimbursement (up to $300.00 per station.)
Q: What will I bring home with me?
A: Everything you’ve made (and not already eaten!) during the retreat, all the recipes, a specially curated Swag Bag (each retreat is unique and so are the Swag Bags) all the knowledge and confidence to recreate the recipes at home. Hopefully, you’ll also make some new friends and some wonderful memories too!
Q: What’s NOT included in the class fee?
A: Not included in the class fee: Flights/Travel to/from Satellite Beach*, Accomodation, Transfers to/from the airport*.
*If you are staying at one of the Satellite Beach/Indian Harbor Beach hotels/Air B&B’s and NOT hiring a car, we can arrange collection/drop off between your accommodation and the school. If you are flying into Melbourne Orlando International Airport (MLB) we can also arrange collection/drop off to the airport. Please email us in advance so we can arrange the collection service.
Q: Why do I need to purchase travel insurance?
A: Travel insurance covers you and us in case of Inclement Weather/Travel Disruptions/Force Majeure. We are based in Florida, and hurricanes/flight disruptions happen, but we’ve also had students from New England that were snowed in and unable to attend…not to mention pandemics! Unfortunately, we are unable to purchase the travel insurance on your behalf, however we provide up to $300.00 credit/reimbursement* per station upon receipt of proof of purchase of travel insurance.
Here is a link to Allianz, but you are welcome to use whichever travel insurer you choose as long as it covers all trip expenses and eventualities- often called ‘Cancel for Any Reason Insurance.’
*If you have only paid the initial booking deposit, the balance due will reflect the purchase price you paid for the travel insurance (up to $300.00 per station.) If you have paid in full, you will receive reimbursement to your payment method or a credit for future classes - the choice is yours.
Q: Can I pay in installments?
A: We put these classes up well in advance so those travelling can make plans/travel arrangements and offer payment plans if desired after the initial 50% booking deposit*.
If you would like to implement a payment plan, please email Angela at info@fabbaker.com after you have paid your initial deposit and a payment plan will be set up for you. Alternatively, gift certificates can also be used for the deposit or to pay off the balance- many of our students avail of this option as friends and family purchase gift certificates for holidays and birthdays. Balance of course fee is due four weeks before each class commences to allow time for tools/special materials to be ordered.
Q: I’ve never baked before, can I join the Retreat?
A: Absolutely! The vast majority of our classes are suitable for complete beginners! We do offer a few Professional courses which require some degree of baking aptitude, but they are clearly labeled as Professional/Advanced classes. If in doubt, please contact us at info@fabbaker.com or call 321-622-6185.
Q: Can I get a refund if _______ (fill in the blank.)
A: If there are not enough students for a scheduled module, and Florida Academy of Baking cancel the Retreat; your deposit (and any installments including applicable credit car/payment fees) will be refunded in full or you can choose to carry it over to the next scheduled course. This does not include last minute cancellation by Florida Academy. of Baking due to inclement weather/flight disruptions/Force Majeure as that will be covered by your travel insurance.
If YOU cancel:
At least 60 days prior to the Retreat start date- Full refund (excluding credit card/payment fees if applicable)
30-59 days prior to the Retreat start date- Booking Deposit is forfeited (or 50% of the course fee if you’ve paid in full.) You also have the choice of gifting the retreat to a friend at no extra charge (please notify us with their contact details.)
Your travel insurance should cover any other issues/reasons you can’t attend. We are unable to offer refunds/credit notes for any other reason - hence the need for travel insurance.
