Sourdough Snacks Class

$299.00Per Station (Suitable for Dynamic Duos- see below for more details)

Join us for a delicious hands-on baking adventure as you explore the wonderful flavors and versatility of sourdough! In this class, you’ll shape golden Sourdough Soft Pretzels, create flaky Sourdough Apple Turnovers from homemade rough puff pastry, and bake soft, chewy Sourdough Oatmeal Cream Pie Cookies with rich brown butter cream filling. Along the way, you’ll learn essential sourdough techniques while creating three irresistible treats to enjoy and share!

Sourdough Soft Pretzels taste miles better than anything you’ll find at the mall! With their gorgeous golden-brown crust and classic old-fashioned flavor, these soft, chewy pretzels are well worth the wait. While sourdough pretzels require a little patience, the hands-on effort is surprisingly simple.

In class, you’ll have a batch of dough waiting for you to shape into traditional pretzels. You’ll learn how to give them their signature flavor and texture with a baking soda bath before baking them to golden perfection.

You’ll learn how to make Sourdough Rough Puff Pastry from scratch using active sourdough starter, then transform your flaky pastry into beautiful Sourdough Apple Turnovers. These golden, buttery pastries are filled with sweet-tart apples spiced with cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg. You’ll learn the techniques behind creating tender, flaky layers and shaping the pastry into perfectly rustic turnovers.

Bring a nostalgic favorite to life with Sourdough Oatmeal Cream Pie Cookies. Soft, chewy oatmeal cookies are warmly spiced and sandwiched around a fluffy brown butter cream filling.

Brown butter is used in both the cookies and the filling, giving these treats an irresistible rich, nutty flavor that pairs beautifully with cinnamon, warm spices, and vanilla. The sourdough adds another layer of flavor while helping create that wonderfully soft and chewy texture.

This class is suitable for the following Dynamic Duo types:

YES: Parent/Grandparent & Child

YES: Couples (live in the same household)

YES: Friends (you will share all equipment/ingredients for 1 recipe/batch…we let you rock, paper, scissors if the recipe doesn’t divide equally.)

*What is a Dynamic Duo? It’s basically two buddies sharing the same workstation at no extra charge. You share all equipment and ingredients for a singlebatch of whatever we’re making that day. (Don’t worry, we won’t stick you with some random stranger- if you want to fly solo, you’ll have the station (and all the yummy food) all to yourself!)

We provide all ingredients, supplies, and tools required for use during each class. Best of all you get to take home whatever tasty treats you make - we provide all boxes/packaging.

Please wear comfortable shoes (stools will be provided) and have long hair tied back. For the comfort of all our students and staff, we ask that you refrain from wearing strong perfume or cologne. You may wish to bring a cardigan or sweater as the kitchen is kept at 68F.
