Do you have the basics of buttercream down, if so this advanced buttercream class is perfect for you. In this hands-on class you’ll take your piping skills to the next level and you’ll leave feeling ready to tackle any specialty cake/wedding cake.
We’ll already have the cakes ready for you, so we can jump right into learning how to properly fill and ice your two teir cake. From there, you’ll learn how to master clean, sharp edges and creating a strong foundation for your beautiful decorations.
We will focus on the latest hot trend: Lambeth/Vintage decorating! This design requires technique and a little bit of patience. You will learn the secret behind deep vibrant buttercream colors without the bitter aftertaste so your cake will taste as delicious as they look.
By the end of class you will leave confident with new techniques:
- Creating a strong clean base to decorate.
-Drop lines, swags, ruffles, shells, and more.
-Deep toned buttercream delicious buttercream
-A detailed lambeth/vintage skills.
This class is suitable for the following Dynamic Duo* types:
YES: Parent/Grandparent & Child (as these are full day classes, they are suitable for older children 12+ or younger children with a keen interest in decorating)
YES: Couples
YES: Friends (you will share all equipment/ingredients for 1 recipe/batch…we let you rock, paper, scissors if the recipe doesn’t divide equally.
*What is a Dynamic Duo? It’s basically two people sharing the same workstation at no extra charge. You share all equipment and ingredients for a singlebatch of whatever we’re making that day.
We provide all ingredients, supplies, and tools required for use during each class. Best of all you get to take home whatever tasty treats you make - we provide all boxes/packaging too!
Please wear comfortable shoes (stools will be provided) and have long hair tied back. For the comfort of all our students and staff, we ask that you refrain from wearing strong perfume or cologne. You may wish to bring a cardigan or sweater as the kitchen is kept at 68F.
